Concern Worldwide is committed to Good Governance, Transparency and Accountancy principles. Our programmes and our support offices’ work are subject to regular reviews and evaluations.

enterprise and employment

We implement our programmes working with local partners and also recruit and train local staff.

Some of our programmes include activities promoting interaction with markets, such as improving food processing skills, vocational and business skills, microfinance and working with local cooperatives.

human development

A priority for Concern is to improve access to and the quality of basic education, both for children and adults. We build on local structures and involve local people and resources. We often act as a link between governments and communities to encourage dialogue and a sense of shared responsibility.

We are also engaged with civil society and capacity building programmes.

perceptions of africa

Our newly formed Policy and campaigns team together with our Communications department work on improving the perceptions of Africa in the UK via our advocacy and campaigning work, our exchange with Diaspora group, our exhibitions and awareness events.

We also regularly host briefings and meetings where our overseas staff can present our work and raise issues in front of other NGOs, DFID representatives, donors.
