trade
Nestle is driving the debate about how best to reform tariff and trade regulations to enable developing countries to grow their economies.
enterprise
We recognise that our business in Africa is linked to the success of the African farmers. As a large purchaser of agricultural raw materials, we believe in the development and implementation of sustainable agriculture. As such we are a founding partner of the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative, play a lead role in sustainable coffee programmes, are part of the cocoa and chocolate industry’s sustainable cocoa farming efforts, and continue to help communities provide sustainable milk supplies.
human development
In 2002 Nestle became a founding sponsor of the African Health Initiative 2010, with the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent. Working with the Nigerian Red Cross, HIV/AIDS programmes have been implemented throughout Nigeria and have now been extended to Kenya.
