Southern Africa Global Competitiveness Hub
In June 2002, USAID/Southern Africa established the Southern African Global Competitiveness Hub (USAID Trade Hub), in Gaborone, Botswana.
The USAID Trade Hub’s primary objective is enhancing the competitiveness of Southern Africa products and services, which, through increasing trade, play a key role in reducing poverty.
With a strong regional team of technical experts and additional short-term consultants, the USAID Trade Hub provides technical assistance and capacity building to policy-makers and businesses in the region.
Areas of expertise: the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), Exportable Agricultural Products, Improving the Regional Business Environment, Finance, Energy, Transport, Customs and Private Sector Advocacy.
