Association of Business Executives

The Association of Business Executives (ABE) is a business and management awarding body, providing affordable, flexible and progressive qualifications in Business, Human Resource Management, Travel and Tourism and IT. ABE, whilst having fewer than 25 full-time employees in its London headquarters, works with colleges, universities, training providers and employers in over 70 countries worldwide. It has over 25 years’ experience of working in Africa, to help develop business and management skills from within.

enterprise & employment

ABE is currently working with Rotary International to ship IT equipment from the UK to colleges in Namibia, to provide them with the IT infrastructure that will help students there develop portable, transferable skills for the business world. This scheme has the blessing of the Namibian PM. Once established, the scheme will be rolled out to other African countries.

ABE is establishing student networks in some of its African markets to bring students and employers closer together. Employers of ABE students and members in Africa already include KPMG, Unilever, UNDP, USAID, WFP and the British Council.

human development

ABE operates a scholarship system exclusively for our students in Africa. The top 50 achievers at Certificate level have their exam fees paid for at Diploma level. This reduces the drop-out rate and harnesses the talent across the continent.

ABE has funded a Chair for African Studies, which is a position within Leeds Metropolitan University. The postholder is based in Africa rather than the UK to ensure meaningful research and interaction with the local market.
