2010 Event Series: Harnessing the Power of Business for Development Impact
The 2010 Event Series, co-hosted by Business Action for Africa, the CSR Initiative at Harvard Kennedy School and the UK Department for International Development, included public and private practitioner events in London, New York, Dar es Salaam, Kampala and Blantyre. Series partners included the Overseas Development Institute, the International Business Leaders Forum and the World Business Council on Sustainable Development.
The Series took as it’s starting point the fact that the central question of whether business has a role to play in supporting Africa’s development, has given way to how best it can fulfil this potential. As development partners and business become an increasingly critical part of each other’s capacity to deliver scale and impact, the series examined the progress being made to create the incentives and frameworks that make it easier for business and development organisations to work together.
